Introducing our 400 Legend 185 Grain HV ammunition—engineered for hunters who demand ultimate straight-wall performance and precision. This premium factory-loaded round features our new 185 grain HV, .40 caliber (0.4001") all-copper projectile, designed for the 400 Legend. With a superior ballistic coefficient (BC), you’ll experience flatter trajectories, greater retained velocity, and unmatched energy downrange translating to bigger impact and shorter tracking jobs in the field. This ammunition is offered in 20-round packs and housed in a sleek, reusable snap-lid container.

Each round is loaded with Peterson Cartridge’s 400 Legend brass delivering extremely consistent velocities and very low standard deviations. That means you get best-in-class speed, energy, and consistent expansion with every shot. This is the next generation of straight-wall performance!

  • Ruger American rifles must use our HV Mag System to feed this ammo. 
  • Due to the overall cartridge length (COAL 2.450"), this round may not fit in all factory magazines. Check your rifle specs for compatibility.
Notes: Casings have discoloration due to annealing of the case mouths which is not pictured in the product image above. Savage rifles may produce about 50 fps higher velocities due to their unique barrel dimensions. If you wish to feed this ammo through the magazine, please measure the opening of your magazine to ensure it will fit into your magazine (opening must be longer than 2.450"). Ruger American rifles can use this ammunition if our HV Mag System is installed in the rifle.
